Norrflod Kapital LLC is a research-oriented firm with plans to participate in wholesale electricity markets. We intend to operate within MISO — the Midcontinent Independent System Operator — one of the largest electricity markets in North America, spanning the Upper Midwest to the Gulf Coast.

Our approach will be grounded in rigorous data analysis, proprietary modeling, and disciplined risk management. We believe sustainable performance comes from intellectual honesty, process consistency, and a deep understanding of market structure.

Based in Northern Virginia, our team is building expertise in energy markets, quantitative research, and systems engineering.

Our Approach

How We Operate

We concentrate on wholesale electricity markets where data availability, structural complexity, and pricing dynamics create opportunities for systematic, research-driven participation.

MISO Market

We plan to participate in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, focusing on wholesale electricity price dynamics in the Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets. Our research aims to identify systematic opportunities across the MISO footprint.

  • Day-Ahead market focus
  • Real-Time market monitoring
  • Locational marginal price research

Quantitative Research

Risk discipline will be central to everything we do. We plan to maintain clearly defined boundaries on the scale and scope of our activities, with ongoing monitoring to ensure resilience across a range of market conditions.

  • Proprietary predictive modeling
  • Systematic signal generation
  • Ongoing research and model refinement

Risk Management

Risk discipline will be embedded into every step of our process. We plan to enforce explicit limits on concentration and exposure, with systematic stress testing against historical scenarios to ensure resilience across a range of market conditions.

  • Explicit risk limits
  • Historical scenario stress testing
  • Systematic daily review

Join the Team

We are a small, focused team in Northern Virginia. Our work spans quantitative research, data engineering, and market operations — all under one roof.

We look for people who are genuinely curious about markets and data, comfortable working independently, and committed to building things that deliver robust code.

We value analytical depth over breadth, and precision over speed. If that describes how you think, we'd like to hear from you.
